The Bluff

The Bluff boasts some of the best beaches like the very popular Anstey's Beach, which is less than 3km away. There is also Brighton Beach, Treasure beach, Cave Rock and Garvies. These beaches have ideal swimming and surfing conditions.

The Bluff Nature Reserve, 2km away, is Durban's oldest Bird sanctuary with a wide variety of bird life. Dolphins and whales can be seen from the Bluff and you can experience the greatest sardine shoal on earth. The vervet monkeys, mongoose and fruit bats, are just a few of the wild life that can be seen on the Bluff. The spectacular Durban Harbour Millennium Tower is also situated on the Bluff. This Tower is occupied by Port Control and Signal Staff and provides a 360.

And for the keen golfer we have The Bluff Country Club, less than 3 km away, which boasts one of the top golf courses in Kwa-Zulu Natal! The famous Cooper's Lighthouse is only 1km away. This lighthouse is named in honour of South Africa's longtime lighthouse engineer, HC. Cooper and was commissioned on 31 July 1953. It is a 21 meter concrete tower with a range of 26 sea miles.
